I am more familiar with the year 2000 Otimax 150 which I believe is pretty much the same. Your problem could have something to do with low oil or air in the oil system. Have you filled or opened either of the oil tanks recently? Is the horn sound a single beep or mutiple beeps? Or water in fuel. Or throttle sensor failure. You sure none of the other lights on the moniter display are lighting? Do you have the manual for your engine? How about a Seloc repair manual? Without any of these manuals it would be hard to repair and maintain your engine without making a 7 hour trip.

I was looking in my manual today. Concerning warning system signals the only problem it notes that causes the horn and the check engine light to signal deals with the throttle sensor. All other problems causes other signals to light up as well. Point being your problem is most likely due to a malfunctioning throttle sensor.

Easy Fix. Shouldn't cost to much either. I did not know there are two TPS, I am only aware of one. Do you know where the 2nd one is located?

As far as I know the TPS is only 1 part. I am not aware of a TPS 1 and TPS2. You can buy a new TPS online for about $173. (See the Crowley Marine website. Part #31 Calls it a TPI) http://www.crowleymarine.com/mercury...s/4859_170.cfm Look at the diagram to see if this is the same part you purchased. It should be an easy install. Or maybe you are talking about a diiferent Sensor?
