Good paint gun choice for paint/clear?...

Ok guys, I need your opinions here. I'm wanting a good HVLP spray gun so I can re-clear our bassboat and do a couple of little projects of my own. I've have heard good things about DeVilbiss paint guns, and I like the Finishline 2 model at the top of the page, gravity fed.. I know some of you guys paint like Randy(WILDMAN) and others. I have been reccomended this gun, I know its not high class, but its in my price range

    I appreciate all your help!

    Spray Gun

Why are you looking for a HVLP gun?
I've tried a lot of top end HVLP guns and they still don't spray as good as the old HP guns...............
I use a DeVillbiss HP top loader and can't say enough good things about it.
Another HP gun that I bought as a spare, that has continued to impress me for the price, is the Mac tools Econo Coat gun. Maybe I just got a "good" one, but that sprays as good as the DeVillbiss gun (without the price )
    Good luck

    Thumbs down EPA

Ya, I know, but they (so far) have clamped down on industry. You can still use them privately. Why does everything thats good for the environment have to be so crappy for quality!!!!!!!!

Actually an airless would be the best, with electro-static. They are BIG bucks though.

For some reason it cost more to make and enviromental friendly product even though it is cheaper quality!! Its all about the $$!! If something cost 5.00 to make, they will sell it for 50.00!!

I bought a $45 hvlp at Pace warehouse before they closed. It is some cheap copy. It worked great for primer and such, did paint some CC with it, but the pattern was tight and it was hard to get used to. Maybe 80-90% as good layout, but hard to not have wet/dry spots on complex shaped parts/cars. Also needed a regulated pressure pot, it had the head pressure. I used it for color some, but the Devillbiss for clear. The hvlp takes less product, so it saves $$ for sure.

That is the deal, I seen the same cheap gun for twice the $$, just a ripoff. I would not be afraid to paint a boat with it at all, since it is pretty flat and open.
