New to me 21 Paramount
I have had my eye out for a nice Paramount for some time now. The Reaction was my first boat, which I have really enjoyed over the past year. But, I realized that I needed something with just a little more space for our expanding group of friends who always (predictably) want to go out with us. I found a 2004 Paramount with a 2004 Opti for sale up in Pensacola, but it was ridiculously priced, and literally sat on the lot for a year and a half. I had a friend in the area who checked it out anyway, and I wound up negotiating with the broker for weeks. I finally talked the owner down to reality and bought the boat sight unseen after another friend in the industry conducted a sea trial for me by proxy. I also got a very favorable report on the Opti - less than 60 total hours, the vast majority of which were under 1,000 rpm. All cylinders have good compression. The boat was equipped with gunwale mounted outriggers, so I think the original (and only) owner just trolled around a bunch with it. The gel is just a little hazy from sitting in the sun, but the boat otherwise looks awesome and really clean. I am very pleased with it so far. It has a nice set of gauges (I need to polish out the glass/plexi) and came with a Raymarine C80 combo unit - nice.
The boat was sitting on a galvanized roller trailer, which I did not purchase, so I retained a shipper to haul her down to Orlando. Last Friday, my dad and I celebrated a belated Father's Day, so we grabbed lunch at the Catfish Place in St. Cloud, and headed over to AmeraTrail where my friend is having a nice dual axle trailer made for the boat. I picked up the Paramount on a loaner trailer from AmeraTrail, and my dad and I took her out on the shakedown cruise on the Butler Chain. The boat ran great, and I have since had her out at Bird Island, where I will be heading again tomorrow. I have a few pics, but most of them have my wife on the boat, and she won't let me put her picture on here! I will take more tomorrow to post here, and will continue to try to persuade her to let me put her pics up here (I can already anticipate the comments on this).

Thanks, guys. A couple of questions:
The boat came with gunwale-mounted outriggers, and the steel bases are mounted into the gunwales. If I remove/sell them, what is available to cover up the holes? Do I need to have something fabricated?
I need stereo recommendations. I am thinking Clarion head unit, an amp, and 4 JL 7.7's - 2 on either side of the console and 2 on either side of the bow storage locker firing back - thoughts?
What is a good source for OEM or OEM-style Merc decals?
More to come, I'm sure.
