Tips on driving a 24' Skater

Update is I have a buyer for the 200's and we have decided to go with twin 280's. Pulling the 200's this week and crating them up, then we will start the search for 280's. Already have a few different ones in mind, just have to do more research and make a decision. Also waiting on our Talon to sell to help fund the 280 project. Had an ECU go bad on one motor so replaced that and took it out the other day with a buddy. Had it up to 88mph with stock 14.5/34 cleavers, at only 5700rpm though. Looking fwd to bolting on the 280's and getting some triple digits out of this boat.

Thats gonna be a fun ride with 280s!!! Hope to see it run soon.

Yeah I'd love to go up there and let her eat. Warren has teh same boat with 20" 280's and is running 115mph. Good times...

Rick, the buyer made a crate and had FedEx deliver it and will have them pick it up.

UPDATE: Sold the 200's, shipped them, they arrived just fine. Found a pair of 280's, going to pick them up tomorrow.

2 different 24s at the LOTO shootout this weekend, one went 122 on the course, another went 116. Both had X motors.

So how did the mods work out?

He is adding a strake to the running surface, blue printing the entire bottom, we are changing the front deck area between the sponsons to be more aero friendly as well as it is adding some more surface to the tunnel. There were other things that he suggested but I really want to get this project done in my lifetime and stop throwing $$ at it. He has added a lot of additional support throughout the tank process as well, removed the splash well and built 4 big knees the entire height of the transom, added another complete cross bulkhead at the rear (we moved the rear seats up 2 feet and chopped the race hatch to become a storage area)-its stout and stiff. We hope to be testing with Warrens boat (the tunnel mod. soon). On the last motion that he changed (just the nose design, he picked up 3 m.p.h.)-Doug is a very smart designer that has a pulse on aero and hydro both.

Still in process. Lots of changes, if it wasn't ours when it was new, I would never have gone this far. Its to the point of no return and it will be one of one and very cool when its done.
