What speed boats can safely handle a 3.0l+ motor?

Since Allison is against putting a 3.0l or bigger motor on a Grandsport I am curious what makes of speed boats can safely handle a 3.0l motor or bigger such as a 225Etec HO or a 225ProXS? Talking about full interior boats, not race boats.

I have a land and sea jack which has 5'' of set back. I also run all the weight in the stern. Tail heavy at slow speeds, but gets up and flies good. My sig pic is a shot of it in the mid 80's. Very little trim.

It's not they can't handle the power, it's just that some of them handle better without a heavy motor on the back.

Once you feel the torque of a "big" block it's hard to go back to a 2.5 motor. Not much difference in top end, but the low and middle is more impressive. I'm talking stock motors here, a modded 2,5 is a diff animal..

SRV and V21 work very well with 3L+ motors. I would think that any of the 20+ ft boats would run well with the bigger motors.

I have a 3 liter 225 efi on the back of my stratos 200 vt ski. So far I have seen 83 mph with a 29 tempest plus on the limiter. I believe there is still one for sale here
