Cutting down a Yamaha midsection to 16"
Has anyone made a short shaft mid for a Yamaha 2.6 V6 carb motor? I've been told you can't weld a Yamaha because of the material that was used to make the exhaust tower. Has anyone out there cut one down?

I have welded the leading edge on the skeg on my 200 Yamaha and it was like trying to weld a graham cracker with a black licorice rope...
the material gasses out as you weld and you have a hell of a time getting an "eyeball" to roll.
Also, I'm gonna need that trim moulding at some point here. I'll measure it tonight.The Reverend, (Cedar Machine Service on Facebook)

I got it all figured out. I'm down to 15" using between the clamp bracket trim/tilt and still have full tuck under and steering range of motion. At the body shop for cosmetic work now."Under Promise -- Over Deliver"
