2000 Evinrude Ram is ficht
hello i have a 2000 evinrude 200 ficht ram, #6 cylender is down to #0 psi ,, im wondering if i rebuild it what are the chances of it staying together,,, i bought this motor as is,, so i dont even know its history or hours... looks really clean.. this whole ficht ram thing scares me..

brp had control but was still mostly old parts, turns out i cant rebuild it, rod came thru the block into the reed cage and caused alot of damage,, what i can do is find a 88-2001 carb power head and it will bolt right up, and not blow up every 90 hrs.,, if you know of one lemmi know

You need a crab powerhead from 92-01, the driveshaft changed in 91 or 92 and is a different length. Otherwise you will also have to swap out the driveshaft to the correct one if you run an earlier powerhead. Personally I would fix the FICHT and do all the updates on it.
1989 20' HYDRA SPORTS 2000CC, 225HP EVINRUDE 88 powerhead 98 mid, TDR reeds and a basic clean up porting on it
Runs 49 MPH not bad for a heavy deep vee

it cant be rebuilt and a new power head is way more then i will spend,, i know i can find a cheap carbureted power head ,, just a matter of time.. can i sue an older power head if i change the drive shaft? i know a guy that can weld them for a couple hundo.. i will sell the old power head if your interested
