    Which would run higher RPM's....

A light boat with a 25hp engine, or a heavier one with the same engine?

A boat with only a driver will run higher rpms than with 3- 400 lb. passengers. So the lighter boat.
If there is only the weight diff and the prop doesn't cavitate.

You did post this! Lighter=faster! Take all the crap out of your boat and it will go faster, unless you suck air with the prop then for some reason...or get above the powerband. More weight will displace more water(more of hull deeper in water) and then you have to push aside more water to move the boat.

If I don't put a stereo in my boat I'm gonna take the battery out and just use a jumper.

Raceman? Tuner? Isn't the problem that with so many cylinders together it trashes the signals so the tuner/tuned pipe will not work well? Also they are not the same length sometimes as well? Still much controversy about them in every thread I read here. I just wanna hear one of those boats with the pipes stickin' right out of the block!!

You may also have more wetted area of the hull, and the water drags against all that area in the water to slow you down. That is the idea with strakes, and sharpening the strakes and transom edge...to make the water exit away from the hull and not drag on it.

Just like if you wash your car on a paved driveway, the water will run slowly down a slope on the pavement. If you run more water it goes faster on top of the other water, but the water against the pavement will still be going slower/dragging on it. Same on your hull, so you want that pad to push you up out of the water, and lighter means higher.
