At100 - Thanks, I take your skepticism as a compliment! She runs what she runs... I confirmed it with several runs using two GPS devices at all times. (not that there is any need to) Keep in mind I'm not saying it does this in a sanding 1/4 mile; rather that I enter the straight on plane and then punch it having to let off again for the next turn before the RPM stops climbing. Paul, the YT sponsons are even with the pad (I've checked with a straight edge). On the XT they are higher and on the ZT they are either even on lower - I can't remember. The boat has full, regular weight interior at all times.

Yes...its very close. The center of the gullwing pad is about as deep as the sponsons. I know when I would wrap a string around my old boat the string didn't touch the pad but it was very close. This creates a lot of drag. I'm having a YT redone and I'm going to add an inch to the pad. STV's have deeper pads and it works very well as we all know. I was running a 260 on my YT and I will be on the one I'm restoring.

Yes we are on the same page. Just the tip of the pad in the middle is even with the tips of the sponsons. I've read somewhere on here about a guy doing as you plan and his results seemed quite positive. A before and after comparison with all else being equal would be very interesting!

The hulls work well. The one I was playing with went 87 on the RPM limiter with a 30 et it was a bone stock 175hp 60 degree Rude. If we snipped the limiter or went to a big prop it would have went mid 90s easy. It yanked the 30 to limiter swiftly and threw it up on plane faster then my old 4 seat mirage. My buddy went 84 with his and a box stock 150 xr6 with a 28 chopper we are gonna try a 30 chopper II next time out should be worth a couple more mph.

Hes got this thing dialed in! Now u need to get the motor back together.

Stripped the motor down this morning. Looks like the damage is minimal; cylinder will be fine once I get the melted aluminum off. No scoring. I think I'll hone and re-ring all 6 while I'm at it; clean up the ports, flashing, and maybe its time for those better heads. I may start another thread on the subject...

    UPDATE.
The 235 was repaired in the fall, and runs like a top again. However it is time for a change... I'm going back to my roots and going with a Merc. (just personal preference - nothing but respect for the old 235)
I've bought a mint and original '97 225PM with a sporty (1.75 gears) to replace the Johnson. I may add a hydraulic jack plate in the spring too.

I guess I should change the title of this thread to "Chasing 100 MPH".
    Any predictions?

    Century Club.

Boat went 103 MPH on the rev limiter with very little effort with the 32" lightning E.T.

    That's Amazing.
Have you compared the ET to any other props with the promax?
I would think that a lab cleaver might even do ya better.

With the ET the acceleration is impressive I'm just out of RPM with the stock limiter.
I'm sure a 34" cleaver would be good for a few more MPH, I know it was with the 235. Too bad I sold mine thinking I'd never be able to turn it with a box stock 225 PM and 1.75 gears. For now I'm not sure I need to go any faster. Its nice that the boat can do 97 or so with 3 adults and hit the limiter every time I want to solo..... this isn't one of those "I hit 100 once" scenarios. Turn key +100 MPH boat. SWEEETT!!
