Glastron Gt 150 to add a pad or not to add a pad?

whats everyones take on adding a pad to a 1977 glastron gt 150? worth it or not? has anyone done it with great results? i have to completely restore the boat and while doing so i would add a pad if its worth it.

Its coming along slowly,Still looks like the last picture.
I am trying to find a windshield but they are hard to come by.
Right now I have ditched plans on the hot rodded 140 crossflow (will be up for sale soon) for a 120 looper that I recently picked up.
Just starting the the process of picking up the right parts to make this new engine a screamer.

I'm worried about finding a windshield as well. if i cant find one i might try to make a mock windshield out of fiberglass or get a frame made and the plexie glass formed. the second of the two would probaly be expensive but would look better.
