Why are there 2 water pressure gages?
Would this boat have been rigged with twins? The single Tach looks a few years newer than the PSI gauges.

That was my 1st thought ,plus the stainless plate behind the tach to cover a 2nd hole.

If its the same boat in the picture with the motor, it was never a twin. The trim angle gage makes me think it is. The aluminum plate is not big enough to have covered 2 tach holes; there is no repair to the other side of the dash

It must be the most copied tunnel boat of the era and a standard that folks tried to meet or beat. Since they were made of wood it appears very few have survived.

So, I was hoping with this thread folks could help piece together the history and different types of hull designs built. Sooo if folks have pictures or information please chime in.

When did they use this emblem ?? I have never seen one and most boats pictured do not have them.

Thank you for the info !! Yip Brian Smith was his name and he ran a single Miles boat and Dick ran that lovely twin. Here is a pic of the boat in SA at Scrutineering. The guy in the yellow shirt was my brother in lawClick image for larger version.

The eBay pictures look just the same as the when the pics were first posted on this forum. I had the chance to test one of those 18s set up for SJ and found it the easiest to drive tunnel I ever sat in. In my opinion that boat with a 1500 would be great fun. Even more fun with a stacker if you can find one with water injected stacks.
