XD100 - How long can it sit unused?
Hey guys, long story short had another kid so boat has been in mothballs most of 2012.
Question is I have a virtually full bottle of XD100 sitting in the oil tank for at least 10 months.
Boat is kept outside but double covered but temp variations can be huge and last couple of days we've had 40+ Celcisus!
So not sure the consequence on oil. Fuel I understand.
I have a new bottle ready to go but if still usable would love to keep the existing liquid gold! lol
cheers.

From what I have read syn. oil takes a lot longer to oxidize than mineral based oil. I have stored one of my boats for up to 3 years with Klotz oil in the injection tank and fired up the 200 merc for the season with no problems. I would not hesitate to use it! Gary

I don't think synthetics really have a shelf life. There aren't many light components to evaporate out, and no wax to solidify. The only thing I would do is shake it up before use in case any additives settled out.
