So we decided to close in the transoM Off comes the deck and out with the transom. 30 years old it is ok but not perfect. Hangin that big ol evinrude 10" back is gonna put a strain on it. This way the transom will be continuous across the back.

Pics from the last week. The transom is closed in and being shaped. It will be a much drier stern. The new lines are going to look cool. There is a small deck now for whatever use. Andy has been working hard to get the deck recreated.Click image for larger version.

Knees have been added to the transom to strengthen it. They will be glassed in to the stringers. We used wood again in the transom. It is built up of three layers glassed together and then encapsulated. The first one lasted 30 years!! It was still strong with damage only around a live well fitting that was improperly installed. The floor has been removed and the stringers look great. When all of the other work is done the a new foam core floor is going back in. What a weight difference. Should shed a couple hundred pounds with this one. After that we plan to build in a wrap around seating arrangement. Been watchin Stitch Kings project to get some ideas!!
