I did not realize that Progression is still building new 22's. There is one other manufacturer building a 21 SOB and that is Nordic. The bottom on there hull originates from Cyclone in Australia which Donat mentioned earlier in this thread is a proven rough water ski race hull down under. Tough to get a good picture of the Nordic 21 Crossfire ..........but below are a couple.

Interesting to look at the weights of the various 21's that are available new, using modern materials and techniques .........
Tuff 21 hull weight = 950lbs
Progression 22 hull weight =1225 lbs
Bernico F2 21 hull weight = 705lbs
Nordic Crossfire 21 hull weight= N/A
Sutphen 21 SS hull weight = N/A

The Tuff weight was an estimate on the Kevlar infused hull, and that was just the bare hull and deck, so use that for reference. It is no flyweight, I suspect it is 50-100 lbs lighter than a stock layup. I can't rememember it's exact weight, but is is somewhere in the 2300 lb range rigged with no fuel or anything else. For reference my challenger was 2460 lbs with dual batteries, it ran high 80's with a 300 pro max.2023 TUFF 25

Weight comparison should be done as bare hull Ready for Rigging, this way you are strictly comparing the weight of the manufacturers hull itself, which puts a vacume bagged 22 progression at 950 pounds, which is almost identical to the weight of a regular TUFF, even then the only proper way to compare the weights would be on the same scale, the same day, one right after the other.........
