Another perfect example of a very well built boat!
Kevin is also a hands on builder that takes pride in his product, provides amazing attention to detail and makes sure he has the best quality control a manufacturer could provide.
~Warranty is only as good as the company providing it! If the company goes out tomorrow you have nothing. IMPO, the best warranty one can try to obtain is, have regular dialogue with builder and make sure he is using the proper materials and the latest building method from day one!
~A new 22P properly setup with quality stuff will also easily be in the $50's and IMPO, you get what you pay for!

The point is though that light boat needs less extra weight for the effects to be felt. Ballast tanks in offshore race boats are as small as possible, as far forward and as low as possible. Why do you think that is?
A 3000lb that is poorly balanced will need a hell of a lot more weight in the nose than a flighty 1000lb boat. Net result is still a well balanced boat, but everyone knows that weight costs speed.

Everyone has valid points....to a degree ! But also each boat we are talking about is basically hand made. NO two boats are ever exactly the same, from total weight, distribution of weight, rigging, tank size, bottom details and bottom design changes all effect everything in some way from, heavy to calm sea handling and slickness, airing out the hull or not effecting at any moment DRAG and speed. So this is a perfect winter debate since it can continue on forever ..

I would think the bottom details and bottom design do not change on these boats.
