Trouble makers!! I dont claim to be the fastest nor do I think I am. Those Tuffs are sweat and sound like they are certainly running good... I am a believer. I can say my boat runs good bc of a lot of testing and tuning with a stock motor other then it being a 15" mid built by Ronnie. I have to thank him and Rob and the boys at Raybo for taking the building faults out of the boat and making it perfect. I am down to run against anyone anytime, wind, ruff, calm, 3000' above sea level, I dont care. Its all about having fun and going fast. I hope to see a good turnout at the Romp this year with it being a midpoint for pretty much everyone. Its a great fun run and has a little bit of all waters, ruff and calm. Sounds like a lot of people are stepping it up this year so Im gonna have to do the same. PS can someone put the pizza girl on my boat??

Long Island is 0' and salt water
How much difference does this make?

Not sure exact # but in my boat it makes a difference. Thats why you have to hand it to the Tuff guys. Would love to see what they would do down here.

I checked, the fastest with two people the tuff ran was 102.5. This was in September this year.
As for the fastest, the intimidator so far. But just how light is it? What exactly was the motor?
The Kevlar tuff was 890 lbs hull only, no carpet no furniture, so finished hull is around 1000-1025 lbs, plus all rigging.

Was the Tuff you mention that ran 102.5 also the Kevlar 890lb hull with no interior?

The bare hull was 890' when it ran 102.5 is had full interior and two big guys in it. Rigged hull weight is around 1900 lbs with no fuel/driver/passenger

Roger that RBT, thanks. Also appreciate your post below which was from 2007 and lays out some of the Tuff details...........

There is easy proof of 102. That is almost 2 years old. Rotorhead who owns 1 of the 2 300X Tuffs later ran 104 on his in dash GPS. This is with Hull number 2, full weight ( all Tuffs to date have exactly the same layup with the exception on Hull #8, the other 300X boat which has coremat in the deck... per the customer request ). The 104 was with 1.75 gear on a worked sportmaster with a Labbed 32 Trophy prop. Regardless of all the comments, they really are that fast. People cannot seem to grasp that the bottom has been altered from the original Challenger/Superboat. They create a lot of lift, and Mark worked the deck to make the air move over the cockpit. I have little doubt, that with a lightboat and some work they could close the gap on 110... with a mod motor for sure. I just don't know that they are interested. Ted ( Rotorhead ), has set the high mark for Tuff's, and even he hasn't really tried to chase the big number. I would like to see him try an ET and a Cleaver to see if he can better the number.

Maybe someday someone from the NY area will buy one ( or one of ours visits there ) so you all can see for yourself. Frankly there is no point in BSing, as it sure won't help the boats reputation if they cannot actually put up the numbers........ cus they sure as hell can.... at 1000 feet of altitude and in fresh current-less water.

That is about the best I can say for proof, my word is good.

Keep in mind that the Bernico had a 2.5 s3000 that probably putted out about 400hp or close! That engine was built in Belgium for F1 cat racing....

Some new info just in on the Nordic Crossfire-21/SR-21...........and a photo of an I/O to get a good look at the hull aired out

"We have a 21 Nordic with a foam and glass interior, with an optimax 300. Ross said it was a "medium" lay up. Not quiet that fast with a skier.... we've hit 77 which is plenty for marathons. Have hit 86 with out a skier. The hull seems to like a 4 blade. The lay up on these will be all glass, the race boats use a mix of carbon fiber. Our Crossfire 21 was the 1st outboard rigged, we went a bit heavier for the ocean. We've been told anywhere between $50k and $80k depending on options, lay up motors, ect... everything at Nordic is custom built for your boat. its a pretty amazing set up they got over there. Just last week I had it out in 8 foot seas. (not the funnest skiing) and it holds up well. We have had no issues with the boat at all, and i used it every weekend in the ocean except 3 or 4 the past two seasons feb through October. takes a whole 20 minutes to clean and flush the motor when we're done."
