Allison as we all know makes some legendary boats. I forget the deadrise of the new XB21's V at the transom but I think it is 22 degrees. The freeboard and the bow deadrise however would never allow it to play in true rough water which is what the boats on this thread are about.

You would be real wet when things got snotty. Or you would be sunk.

Below is a photo of the bass Allison XB21 and then another that shows how deep you sit in one of the rough water SOB's along with a video of it underway.

That Labsport is in the US and like the other Labsport in the US, it will be set up for ski racing and not top end speed.

I have to agree. I don't think the Allison - as good of a hull as it is - would like rough water much. Note the total lack of concern on the faces of my son and I in the 27 year old Progression.

I'm not an expert in this type of hull design, but is a Nordic and Bernico in the same class as Progression when it comes to rough water? I have been to the Nordic factory to look at the 21 and didn't think it would handle any bigger water than my Allison. I will not dispute an Allison is going to run in Progression water. Truly impressed with what Tuff and other boats mentioned can run with a single. Really cool to read this thread.

The white Labsport VF2 21 pictured below belongs to a board member here and is already running in waters out West for months. Even with a ski race set-up, it has easily clocked 94 mph on GPS. Regardless of application set-up so far, right now it's the fastest rough water SOB with 300R power in the US.

I spoke with the owner just before Christmas and while I never got a hull weight, he said he is going to be trying out several different props to chase a speed number this year. He feels confident that 100 is in site with full social interior. He was good enough to supply a bunch of photos. It got rigged with a V8 300R with Sporty right upon delivery from Australia. The Oz hulls are evidently all running Torquemasters.

The "other" orange Labsport 21 V hull below (the mono V is evidently a new design for 20 year old Labsport Power Boats) has been in the United States since 2016 racking up rough water wins in ski race set-up. It started with a 300XS and that motor got swapped out for a 300R, not sure if it has a Sporty or T/M.

Speeds have never been reported with either motor but maybe you can contact Mike A and ask him Az.

Here is a video of the boat underway https://www.facebook.com/mike.warpat...8279079322221/

Size equals wind resistance. Not sure how much higher a 300R sticks its cowl up versus a 300XS but would be interesting to see.

2.5-21, talk to these guys, they did the rigging on that Labsport with the tabs you are interested in.
    https://www.facebook.com/teamarchermarine/

Greg G., I know about the Labsport already running here, but the Red/White hull getting rigged in the other pic will be competing against him in Ski competitions.
