Actually planet = reference as Round. Space shots prove this. A more accurate statement he could have used was "fastest SOB on interplanetary earth."

So now with the new 300 being a V8 and there are now higher HP motors available that will work on a SOB hull shouldn't the SOB power include up to the 400R? The 300xs is no longer in production so something in the rules for this thread must change as well correct? In the Currently in production part of it? Not that a 400R will be faster than the new 300 V8 on some hulls that remains to be seen.

Yep, this is the last year for the 300XS. That said, I only know of one rough water SOB in the US that has one of the new motors on it so there isn't much to track just yet and I don't think there will be for a couple of years. I hope I am wrong and they start to pop up.

The 400r is a little heavy for the 21ft group listed here, however someone is likely to try one on some of these hulls at some point. The interesting result may be that some of the 24 ft V hulls will hit the 95-100mph mark with one.

Thats what I was thinking. The 24Tuff SOB with a 400r might be a very fast setup for top end.

    ............
There is a 400 running currently on one of Laveycrafts 21 XCS's out West. I think the weight would be fine as many of the rough water SOB's in the group have been rigged with twin 2.5s over the years.

That V7 with the 400 is running 84-85mph with a plush interior. 28SkaterCA here on the site has the same hull he imported new into the US. The Velocity V7's have 22 degrees a deadrise. I do not believe he has taken any top speed stats with his 300XS yet but I suspect Craig would easily take the open 6th slot with it.
