Yea sure. They have been being produced since the 1980s and my particular hull combination was ready about 3 years ago. They are incredible rough water boats for their size!

All the 22-25ft Sobs here in Malta are family friendly. Mine has a race canopy and can be converted from a 2 seater to a 5 seater in a matter of minutes.

Thank you. We need a tour of there factory!

Who knew there was another "Strong Island" making some cutting edge stuff for all the SOB folks. Also, even with the 6' beam, the Chaudron 22 OB is very family friendly with seating for 5.

Is there a cushioned playpen under the deck for storage or is it open stringer there?<script id="gpt-impl-0.6158004000868321" src="http://partner.googleadservices.com/gpt/pubads_impl_75.js"></script>

There could be if u want but trutfully it aint that big. A small guy will just fit sitting down legs crpssed under the deck. You can put a matress and have a nap but just hope that you wont wake up abruptly from a nightmare and bang your head on the deck.

The 22 and 25 chaudron have the same beam and height. Its just 3 feet longer.

That is a 24ft Viper built here in Malta. Its a 4 seater and the quality is second to none. The builder of the boat is a very good friend of mine. That boat has the same bottom as the 24 ft batboat we race. This hull is incredible in rough water. Starts with a 27 degree deadrise and ends with a 8 degree pad. We use to race this hull on the boatboat offshore in 4-5 foot chops sitting on seats made of bare fiberglass with no cushining. Its that good!! Soo smooth!

Thanks bep078. Impressive boat. I actually like the narrow beam on the 22 Chaudron. Why drag around extra width if you don't need it. Also did not know of the extensive race history they have.

Bep runs in usually very rough waters and has his boat dialed in nicely...

I have a strong suspicion that if the Chaudron factory decided to focus on the the task, there 22' Pro-S22 model would knock off the Tuff and clock 107 to take top slot on "The List" with a 300XS.
I know that bep078's personal boat is not a Chaudron 22, but maybe he can convince his friends over there in Malta to throw a big wheel on and lay down a speed run. Narrow beam, twin step?

    Chaudron's Pro-S22 could be a real sleeper.

The Black 22 Pro S in your pic belongs to the owner/builder of the boats and is quite a light build. Max speed with a 300 XS with DBR 1.3 and several months of testing with a lot of different props yielded 95 MPH max. A normal build with a 250 XS weighing about 2200 lbs fully rigged less fuel will do around 82 Mph. There is another 22 with a 200 xs gen 2 which does around 81 mph. Its a light build like the black one. The fit and finish on these boats are amazing. Theses pictures dont do them justice trust me!!

Thanks bep078, great information. Interesting on the Chaudron's weight of 2200lbs. One of the Tuff 21's was weighed with a 300X and came in at 2280lbs fully rigged. Another one is going to be weighed and will most likely come in right at 2000lbs.

I know that Bernico has had great success with there single step V 21 footer. There are actually two used one's for sale (pics below) in the US as of last week which is really rare to see here. Have the Chaudron 22's always had the twin step bottom from the first model? Is there a small pad at the transom keel or is it V all the way back?
