20-30k for new would be great. I have in my 25 year old boat already that much and engine isn't brand new and a lot of work was my labor

A brand new 150hp outboard can be had for around $10k. If you look at single outboard racing all of over the world, you will see that they are going smaller. My thought is that a 20ft hull specifically built for smaller power may change the market. It has else where. That was my train of thought. We are all entitled to our own opinions.
I was not going to respond but,but it's winter .......I see you are heading in the correct direction to bring the cost down, buy a smaller boat with little power that you will regret after 1 hour
Let's see>>Mid 20's NEW, 17' Boston Whaler with a 150. If you decide to spend a little more you can even add a CF canoe with a brand new paddle to the purchase!

GL on your search either way ....BTW, Happy 2013!

This would be a fun run to watch from a hilo.....
I did want to mention not the lightest or the fast on small waters but I guarantee it would have been a front runner in the rough.....my old 23 Howard. This boat ran very strong with the 300X, it ran like a much bigger boat, it ate up 2,3' no problem! 23' w/6' beam that was built amazingly well!
No, these are NO longer made and if they were I'm sure it would be an $85K package!

Nice to see me in the bunch. Of course I will need some a few things to participate, a map, somewhere to gas up during the race and of course some soup would be appreciated. Lets get it on.

That Howard is a cool looking boat! I ran one of those Portajacks on my old boat, managed to break the engine saddle and the transom but the lifter was 100%

I built my Bernico (2009 hull) with 2009 200HO ETEC for well under $30,000

WHO???? Come on now... you know he will never show if he had close competition and had to carry more than 1gl of fuel in the boat

I had my heavy 25' Warlock and he had his light Intimitador in some good boat wakes at 90 plus the whole way. Velocity should be in the boat list too. 80's Velocities. Ben's saw 93 that he bought from Mikeylarge. I think Jim's saw 90 before too.

Good time to NOW to mention "Sagandaga" is First S&F spring 2013 event so all that want in on the "fastest" SOB title better show up because there will be a show down it seems !

I have a radar gun or we could just use one hand held an keep passing it around. Use the dock at the bar as the official pit. I see a huge event.
