I'll take the bait RBT. I think you are starting to get a bit carried away lol. This is for SOB's of a certain length. Is 24'9" now a Class 7 hull over at OPA?

Or maybe 24'9" in Canada is actually 24' under someones new math. Why not start another thread for the bigger Tuff's. Why are you so lazy? As the prime sponsor of Tuff you should do some actual work.

Why no photos or film of the 25 in rough water? It's starting to sound a bit like you are on the Tuff payroll! Several other builders 25's are winning big water offshore races around the world. Races and water that would destroy the Tuff. Tuff's 25 race wins? Not so much friend.

Also, several of the boats on this thread have ballast tank set-ups so stop claiming that is a Tuff "only" option. Stick to the facts not hyperbole.

Tuff makes an incredible hull for sure. Amazing.

    1. Title of thread fastest SOB hull.
    2. Something attainable and new.
    3. 300xs power and 300r power
    4. Ruff water.

My 16' would run in 2-3fts at 50mph...the boat would handle more then my back could. I will take some video of my 24 running in Lake Michigan too.

    I don't care if its 50ft long......SOB and fastest.
    24 tuff 300xs 118
    24 tuff 300R 110
Neither will fall apart in some rough water lol.

See post #1 "Fastest SOB hull??? 21-24ft, what is the fastest with a single outboard???"

This was then expanded to having rough water capability. Yes the Tuff 24 is fast but but too long at 24.9

Ummm I guess I am lost then haha! The Tuff 24 is not a 21-24 ft boat that can handle rough water? Shoot I don't get it haha. I'll put my $$$ against all of them on the river this summer.

BTW that Checkmate of yours is sweet! Love those boats!

So far as I have gathered from the thread (and I read a lot of it, lol) the Tuff 24 was out because it was over 24 at 24.9, also out are the Checkmate 2100 and Allison for lack of rough water capability. But don't shoot the messenger, we all know the Tuff 24 rips. You should start a thread "fastest V hull 24 to 28" even with a single your Tuff will be at the top.

Yeah, this little checkmate is a sweetheart for sure, probably the most fun boat I've owned. It is my first outboard, all previous boats were sterndrives and the maintenance was starting to wear on me, I'm totally sold on outboards.

Maybe when my Progression is done I'll head over to the west side of the state and we can rip up the grand river

Here are my thoughts on this thread, the opening line of this thread is "21-24ft WHAT IS THE FASTEST WITH A SINGLE OUTBOARD" I look at it with eyes that 99% of people don't race, so trying to box boats into a class that is the 1% is goofy. It is a thread that in MY opinion would/could be cooler if it included ALL single engine outboards that fit the spirit of offshore, or at bare minimum can run in sustained 1 foot and bigger water at speed. How this morphed into class 7 is beyond me.

Allison/Checkmate and a host of others have ok lake abilities, but once it gets rough they cannot keep up.
As for the insinuation that I work or worship Tuff, hard No. I also love the velocity 22, and am super excited to see them making a comeback. It is a proven hull, awesome creature comforts and has proven offshore ability. It is my hope that they take this design and put modern building to them. Much like Tuff did with the Challenger 21.
The Chaudron looks great, Nitra, and Bernco, too. I have zero experience with any of them, never seen one and only know what I read on the internet. But like the start of this thread... whats the fastest?

I will add ,that somehow the impression has been made that Tuff's are calm water boats. This confuses me. Firstly, the Tuff 21 based on the Challenger 21, with an altered pad and strakes to take advantage of todays heavier motors it just as capable in rough water as the original 21. It is built with modern materials. After this Tuff ( Don't forget Marks background) he started with his own designs. Look at the 24, longer narrower and a deeper vee than the 21. It is better in every aspect than the 21. But also consider the market that most of these are being sold into, inland lakes that are littered by wakeboard/surf boats. We once had STV's all over, now for speed thrills the market has moved to the Tuff. Make no mistake, they will run in the rough. Tuff, if by and large the only one DEVELOPING new boats in this market segment. All the others are 30 year old designs.

A 25 Chaudron is arriving within weeks and will have a 300R HD. We are debating ordering a 22 or 27 next. The factory is so busy the 27 might not be ready for a while, but the 22 might be able to be built sooner.
