Mark ran 110 out of the box with a 300r on a Tuff 24 (22.5 degree deadrise at the transom, the progression is 22). He did say the mass of the powerhead Was noticeable and the fat gearcase required different setup. The 28 ran 106 with a 450r. These motors are the future and with only a year or so to figure them out they are already showing us the future.

Making the top heavy 300R with tons of torque work good on a small pad boat will come with prop and I believe mounting the engine to run some negative trim.

The 25 Chaudron ran out of the box really well with a 30", Bravo, basically 87 MPH at 6200 RPM. Easily 90±.with time
Like I said before, and I'm not knocking the old SOB boats, I have one, they are limited in design. It's not the engines. They're a little too short and wide, pads a little too narrow to capture the bigger power and they aren't aerodynamic, which plays a huge factor at speeds over 80 and 90.
That's why Tuff redesigned and did the 24', narrower, sleeker, faster.Last edited by WavetoWave; 12-01-2021 at 10:48 AM.
