Who isn’t relaxed?
of course they’re too big for “class 7” talk, but my two favs are the tuff 24 and progression 24LD.

You guys can ask the original poster but I believe that the guy was looking for 21'-24' SOB V hulls that would handle the rough water of Long Island Sound.
It can swell up pretty heavily just like the GSB and the Great Lakes. The thread moved quickly in the first two or three years to Progression's 22, Tuff's 21, Velocity and any similar rough water hulls. So yes Class 7, you guys are correct about that in terms of a 25 footer being too long. The "spirit" of the thread over the years always has been focused on a certain type of SOB. The higher freeboard, deeper V hulls that can make it through more then just 2' chop and easily hold together, then go chase the big number on a smooth day and still fit inside your garage. The speeds had to be proven and there had to be rough water pictures to back up the hull's claims, or they did not qualify. I just read the first two pages of this thread and it looks like the OP and others lay it out clearly but hey, that's me.
Over the years true documented speeds started to surface with 300XS power and rough water photos. Then the multiple pictures of the foreign built "Class 7" type and size boats like Labsport and V7 and Bernico came into USA waters and got posted on "The List". Allison holds the flat water record at 129 mph.
Now the new taller Mercury V8 4 stroke motors are showing up on The List and doing well so far.

I was looking for the same thing that's why after considerable research I bought a Chaudron 22. Delivery was around the 1-year mark, the hull is more than proven in heavy weather, and still has the capability to be in the century club.

I also saw that the 28 went 110 with a single 450. Too big to be a SOB as defined here way back when, but with today’s bigger motors a re- think might be in order.
I wonder what the 20 would run with my 200XS.
