There are a few racing motors being made for racing in the alcohol classes as well: Konny, Rossi, Arens, MacMinarelli, but as Ross points out, nothing from the major outboard makers except the V-6 Mercs
This is a 500cc (30cubic inch) racing motor made in Italy. Something like 165-175 hp.

Yeah, but I'm sure Mr Rossi knows where to start.
Here's a link to the 36 hp Yamato 300 series Stock racers:

There are no small racing engines being produced in the US.
The market just isn't there. If it were they would be produced. In addition the new EPA requirements make it hard. Worse in Calif.
In Calif. you can not sell a new "traditional, EFI or Carb" two stroke. Any Racing motor in Calif must be a direct drive type, non shiftable.
Had a long talk with Mercury. They have their hands tied due to the CARB Board, EPA and economic realities.
The Super Sport class uses a stock production motor and still meets the 2006 emmissions. I would expect the F1 motor to be made for some time and the SST 120 eventually go to a 200 Optimax powerhead.
As for motors for V bottoms unless someone can adapt a production motor SOL.Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

2 cylinder race motor
Ross, yes BMC does certainly have enough money to develop a new 2 cyl. race engine, trouble is, doing it would CERTAINLY lose a bunch of that money. It is not in a companies' best interest to LOSE money. That is exactly what developing a new 2 cyl. race motor would do. Here's the story, the reason most people hop up/race a 2 cylinder is because they can't afford anything bigger. If there is no $ to begin with, then a manufacturer has no interest in building a product to sell to a VERY limited market of people who have NO money. It makes ZERO business sense. It will only serve to drain of money from BMC. And anybody who says "well I'd buy one", get 5000 of your friends together, get them to pay for a motor up front, in full, then take all that money to a manufacturer and they will build one. Unfortunately, when it comes time to "PUT UP OR SHUT UP", 99.9% of boaters will shut up. We are a cheap lot and the money we do have, we want to keep. Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Well that is the reason they stoped making 2 cly perf engines but wouldnt you think after not having any such engines for 10years that they would sell, the other option is it wouldnt have to be a full line just enough to satisfiy the 2cly racing industry.Just my 2 cents

There just isn't a market. Hell we only have around 300 OPC drivers in the US!
How many here race? Not lake racing sanctioned racing. My point exactlyNever argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

Bombardier had lots of money
Bombardier's airplane sales are in the tank. They have big time train problems with Amtrak. The stock has plummeted.
As a result Bombardier recently sacked their CEO. There was speculation in the Globe recently about Bombardier divesting its non core businesses, ie snowmobiles (where it all began), PWC, and outboards.
Yes its a big company, but unfortunately it won't be a charity for the fast outboard set.
