That thing looks sweet. Can I send you my 280 plate to do the same mod that you show in your picture below so I can run a poppet and stats also?

Mark, looking good! Good idea to use etching primer in water passage. Been doing that for years and it really helps save the surface.....

Go Time,
Have you done any mods to the block regarding the drain holes or only modified the adapter?
Do you think some tweaking is still needed or should it work perfect with the modified adapter?
When will you hit the water?

The object was to not need any mods to the powerhead and be able to use the 1pc adapter and oval Promax tuner with stable temperatures for a variety of inlet water temperatures. I may have put flow diverters in the block when I built it 2 years ago, I dont remember. Not sure when I will actually get to try it. I have a new powerhead on the Allison now that I plan to run for the Spring to get it broke in then put an SVS on. Also have a 260 Im putting in top pin wizzards in. So many motors....so little time. I got a motor hoarding problem

I switched to a 1 piece plate last week on my 2.5 200.
I epoxied in a popet dump in the 2.4 BP adapter. I reduced the 4 stock dump holes to 1/8" drains.
My 2 piece plate had 4 1/8" drains that cooled the tuner.
At idle my engine is running cold. On plane the engine runs about the same temperature as before.
I think it's obvious that the 4 1/8 drains are the reason why it's not heating up at low rpms. Can I close them all of except for one (to drain the adapter so water cant sit during winter)?
If I look at my manual it says the 4 holes are to cool the exhaust and prevent the tuner from melting etc? This is worrying me. Also the water helps to keep the waterpump from melting?

Yes Chris
Was running a 2 piece plate before with tstats and poppet. Just changed the modified adapter...
I feel it's dumping to much water at low speed. The 4 1/8 drains on the 2 piece plate are feeded via the popet dump and thus when popet opens... With the 1 piece adapter they are feeded all the time.
