Used some left over plywood to make a battery tray/hold down for the Optima battery. Glassed some wing mounts to the stringers so the tray could be bolted down. The 6" stringers will support the weight of the battery.

Glassed in the bulkheads for the seats and shifter. After some thought, the center stringers got boxed in at the seats. At a 5.5" i.d., couldn't help but to think if one lost their balance while standing up, and your foot was between those stringers, pretty sure it would be.....snap goes the ankle. Boxing them in, along with bolting down the battery tray, could also help triangulate the center pad area.

The nice grain of the okume wood will be left visible when finished.

The deck was set back on to check for foot throttle and foot pad placement before glassing them in. Now that the seat bulkheads are in place, rigging mock-up can get started. The way that the throttle and support are set up now, feels real comfortable when at the helm......real comfortable!

Set up dual tanks so the capacity could be 12 gallons. Both 6 gallon tanks will be plumbed into a central fuel rail that will feed the Merc. The fuel rail will be centrally mounted below the height of the tank pickups, allowing the two tanks to hopefully self level.

Battery fits nice behind the rear seat and the terminals are under the splashwell. The rear seat will be hinged at the front so it can be tilted forward, to access the battery and bilge.

When the deck gets glassed back on to the hull, the raised motorboard will be trimmed in a way that will follow the original lines, only extended a little. The bulkhead that was added to support the stringers, worked out well as a ledge for the splashwell to mount to and support. A little tweeking and it should nest in there well.
