    hi proprider
    Nice work
I noticed the stringers too. Ginge is correct. Those stringers would be better if they were scarphed. 30 degrees is not enough taper. That is closer to a butt joint than a scarph. You should be looking at a taper of 8:1 for your scarphs. i.e. if the ply is 20 mm thick your taper should be 160 mm long.
All is not lost though. Put "fibreglass butt straps" on the butt joints by laminating some unidirectional along each side of those joints when you encapsulate them with glass.

ID:	268411Thank you Greg, that's what i'll do. After looking at it again, 30 degree is more like a butt joint. I did put a couple of ribbed bronze boat nails into the scarf and it felt pretty srtong after the epoxy set up.
Thanks for pointing it out Ginger and everyone have a relaxing holiday.

Started putting in the first 8' of core over the pad. It was bedded in one evening, then glasses in 24 hours later. After about 12 hours from bedding it in, the adhesion was tested using Ron Pratt's quarter test method. Found a very small void in the area of the drivers seat. A 1/8" hole was drilled to the pad surface and backfilled with resin. Rechecked it before glassing it all in and the different tone was gone. Thanks for the tip Ron!

Did you vacuum bag it or just wet it out real good?

I wetted it out plus used adhesive filler to bed it. Then spread out lots of weight across the top until it cured.

That's good to know. I was under the impression that to install a new core it has to be vacuum bagged. I figured it could be done without, now I know.

Got some more core bedded in. Threw a full arsenal of items at it to ensure good adhesion.

While cycling through the constants of sanding, glassing and itching, I find myself daydreaming of my finished Viper. I got some more core bedded tonight and got done early. Came in the house and sketched my thoughts on paper. This is what I cameup with........
