Finished making the drag plate. Printed some pics off of goggle image of Allison drag plates, mocked with cardboard template, think I got it pretty close. Used .190 t-6061 aluminum and merc paint....got 30.00 and an evening into it.

I really enjoy doing the finish work. As you mentioned, much more fun as my vision of the finished product becomes much clearer. Should be much more relaxing not having to climb in/out of it near as much too...lol

Made a paste mixture of my 3 favorite building ingredients and spread between the hull and deck.

Threw a full arsenal of clamps at it. Once it cures, the inside radius will get glassed together for a secure, watertight bond.

And here I thought that most of the hard stuff was done. Do not envy those that do their recore with the deck attached. Started to glass the inside radius of the hull/deck. Glassing in a smaller radius of mat first, followed by a 3" piece. Should be very stout and watertight.

It's always a fun job.
Keeps the trim screws from coming loose too.
