Steering question?
Check out this video and watch how this guy turns his steering wheel in continous 360's and the motor stays forward, yet he seems to turn? Is this what a poor hydraulic system does?

It's due to the way the check valves work which stop the helm effectively becoming a hydraulic motor to due the prop torque. My seastar had a slight leak and definitely walked slightly, but nothing like as bad as that video. My new system is a Seastar helm with a Mayfair side ram, and the walk is barely noticeable, especially as I mostly run in rough water so am constantly chopping at the wheel like BA Baracus to keep the boat straight anyway!

When he got off the gas the motor moved a lot more than I would be comfortable with.

Thanks for the reply guys. I was just trying to understand what I was seeing in that video. I have a new seastar system that I plan to put on my Hydrostream Viper.
