Is the twin Talon you're talking about the old "Extreme Overkill" boat out of Cinci Ohio? Used to be owned by Gary Pace. If so, it sued to be a bad SOB. I believe it was a stock lay up boat but I do remember seeing it in the shop with delaminated sponsons at one point.
He used to bring it to the Rumble on the River and asked me one yr if he could drag race it. I of course said, sure. At the time it had pretty wild 2.5's on juice and it would launch. Would pick up and clean the whole hull. He only made it through testing before breaking though. I was watching him and thought he had top 5 potential at that event.
Have pix's and maybe even video some where.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

There was a 22 talon with twin 260s. He put 22s on it for the clarks hill rally and that thing was quick!
Mike Mullins is building what sounds like it would fit the bill. His 20ft tunnel already went 117mph with a stock 300x hes now in the process of rigging twin 360hp drag motors on it. With some 22s this thing would be crazy as its fairly light

Now thats what Im talkin about Kevin. Interesting to see how it launches since there are no pads in front of the engines.....still with that power it could be a nasty drag boat.

I have thought about a twin drag boat too, must be the northern winters.
Thanks Ron. I'll be the first to admit that Tom made a mistake and lifted because he was coming on strong and would have had me on the top end for sure. That was the first weekend that they raced the boat and have since changed the setup.Chet Olson

Or....you could do what the Arcadian race team did years ago...put two powerheads on one lower unit. When that boat was right it would even out run the V-8 boats.

I bought a 21 Liberator low sided (1988 model) from Lake Trash in 2000 that weighed 1700lbs turn key with no driver but had full interior. LT at one time had twinn worked 300 drags W/spray on it and it was very quick as some guys found out the hard way. The launch was great and was aided by two afterplanes mounted on each sponson. The motors were mounted in the tunnels and were counter rotating.
