Here's a link to Extreme Overkill giving an STV a real hard time when it was running a Nitrox setup with Methanol as the enrichment fuel on each of the 260's:

The lighter boat got a big jump on it but then all the power ran it down.

FWIW Gary told me that run was with 28 Mazco Cleavers on stock CLE lowers. He did not remember the RPMs. The nitrous/methanol was on as soon as the pedal hit the floor.

Stich, great video. This is what im talking about. In a 1/4 mile a good twin may be able to chase down a fast single, but again it call comes down to the launch. Is it possible to build a twin that can launch flat? The previous owner of my boat that had twins said it did the same thing as this video(the boat jumps out of the water, slaps down, hooks up and goes) Can a boat like your talon lauch flat with more tuck under and maybe trim tabs? The lauch is the key.......I know there are some more vids of that X22, if I can find them Ill throw em up. The more input and ideas the better.

Dude, one of the most erotic designs ever. Skaters may be faster but IMO, not even close in the looks department You have right to be proud.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

The boat belongs to SX pilot now.

From my experience with the boat, I'd say that trying a set of either ET's or Drag 4's might help the thing launch a little flatter. I never did try different props so I can't say for sure.

When I ran it I had Mazco 30 cleavers and always had the trim down as far as it would go and every launch whether racing or not had to be the same to get it on plane. There was no such thing as easing it up with the cleavers because they slipped so much down low. The Drag or Et's might be better.

I never did try messing with dropping the jackplates for a launch. Things were happening to fast to bring up the trim as it was.

Here's what the launch looks like up close. I believe this was taken at the same event as the video posted above.

Here's what an everyday launch looks like. Either way the sponsons are pointed at the sky.

A lot of thought/work on the CG would be required. Here's the boat at rest. In this photo there were 2 Blue Top Optima Batteries, 2 Trim Pumps, 2 Jackplate Pumps, 2 Heavy CMC Jackplates, and some fuel (don't remember how much) all under the rear hatch. The Nitrous Bottles were on either side of the rear seat. Lots of weight on the tail as you can see...

Even with putting it on a diet and moving stuff forward the effect on CG would be negligible. Somewhere on one of my hard drives is a picture of me standing on the bow (185 Lbs) and it didn't do much to level the boat off at rest. I'll see if I can find it.

Found them. Ok so maybe I was pushing 190 in these shots.

Look at the water line on the chine and use the registration sticker as a reference then compare to the static pic above. Not much difference. Maybe a foot or so more of the sponson is in the water and the rear rub rail is still underwater.

In this shot you can still see daylight under the sponsons. Sorry I don't have a shot with the whole boat. My wife was in control of the camera...

This will be interesting for sure.....the launch will be key. Im gunna have a lot more hp and a ton more torque on the low end, but im sure ill have the same issue with launching the boat upward instead of forward. I think the game changer may be building a large trim tab or tunnel extention. Its going to be fun no doubt. The talon is a beautiful boat.

Where are the tanks located on the talon? Mine are in the sponsons that start at the back seat and end at the front seat.....
