ProMax 225X powerhead on 15" midsection??

Can I bolt a 225X powerhead onto a ProMax 225 Short Shaft midsection and expect the motor to run decently? I believe the ECU is the issue. Does anyone modify these ECU's? Would the motor run if bolted directly onto the mid without issues?

    Thanks in advance....

You'll have to change up the cooling system some if the 225SS ProMax mid is factory. The SS ProMax's came with a one-piece exhaust plate, rather than the standard two piece that was present on all the 20" models. Not sure why, but that's how it was.

Easiest thing to do would be to put a two piece plate on the mid.

If it is a real 225PM SS mid, the plate is made especial for the 225PM along with the tuner. So the plate will not require any mods and it will also have the proper tuner that looks like a mini 280 tuner.
If the 15" is from any other SS motor then you will need to mod the plate or go with the 2 piece like h20skiier mentioned. If you decide to use the 1 piece plate you will need to make some cooling and water dump changes like mentioned above.
