I hung the engine today. I am trying to figure out how to run the rigging with the 15" mid. not much room to work with.

Propshaft is 1/2 " below bottom of the boat. I was thinking that there would be alot of cavitation during break in. I am in mock up stages right now looking how everything is going to fit. I will raise engine up when I go test run it. Thank you for all your help. do you think it would run better at 1" or 2" above bottom of the boat.

Actions sit pretty low at the stern. I'd be concerned about keeping the motor out of the water off a plane. Anyone run a 15" mid that can tell us how it was?

Very cool. Never heard of one nor seen one before.
Craiger, dude you either go large or stay home don't you? Awesome project w/tons of local history/pride as you are seeing. One of the most fun boats to drive as well. You either know how to drive a pad bottom or about to learn Way cool project. I'm jealous.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

I did have that concern, that is why I was thinking about putting battery up front but have been convinced not too. This is going to be a test & tune project. Luckily I have my own boat ramp to add weight & float the boat to see how things sit. This is going to be neat to see how things come along as I slowly add weight to the boat. Hopefully not to stern heavy. will keep you posted as things come along. I did build my hot foot pad & just got the hot foot in today to mount to pad & install into boat. Going to be slow go at it but it will be fun.

PS look forward to meeting people at the Sebring event next weekend.

I have added to more pictures, It doesn't seem like it will be that low based on the side shot, Let me know if it still looks like the powerhead will be to low to water at this height.
Thanks.

One sure way to find out! Put it in the water. If it's low maybe you'll have to raise the jackplate at idle, and drop it down when you want to start getting on plane. Interested to see the result. Would like to have my mid cut, but need more info like you're going to have by trying it. Still need to get you a pic of the footrest this weekend.
