Right now it is in the 60's which is a freak and the leaves are changing very rapidly and where i live by Lake mich , it will almost be an everyday thing doing leaves because i live in a very wooded area which more or less during the summer has somewhat of a canopy effect because of all the trees and yes it is getting colder you dawg sometimes freezing which means the heater is going on at nite , and no you did not mention you have a dry 92 degrees .................Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha personally i can not wait for Snow considering i just brought the John Deer ( snow blower ) up from the shed ..................ready to rock .

Parker enduro got in the way last weekend, but made some progress this week. Been working on the splash well removal and its looking better than expected. Was melamine as xstream suggested but found some thin masonite/white paint on one side at home depot. Cheap 12 bucks 4 x8 sheet. Tried a test with only car wax for a releasing agent, worked fine. The next day i picked up some mold release just to be sure. Made the mold, layed 1 ply of 1708 and layed the divinnycell with another sheet of masonite and weighted it all down. Next day applyied another layer of 1708. No problem coming loose from the masonite. Only misake i made was not to support well enough from the underside, so the form was a little spongy. Made a cardboard pattern of the splash well to be filled with some masonite and cut/ground the new moldes piece until it dropped into the hole with 1/16 or so below original gel coat grade. Bedded it in with structural putty, tabbed it in from the underside with 1708 and layed the first coarse of glass on top.

Been a while, so i thought i would update. Rear splash well is complete, finished the bulkheads and went under the deck today with the grinder and an electric leaf blower to help with the dust. Cut out an old bulkhead that had delaminated. Worked ok, an hour in tight quarters is enough though. Started gel coating the rear portion.
Next its time to flip the boat over, made a tool to support the transom from a overhead hoist.
Time to get the sanding tools out, make a few long boards and start to blueprint the bottom.
Will post some pics soon!!!

Nice tools. I have one of those things bolted to a 4' long pc of 2''x2'' ell angle alum. Does a great job straightening a bottom. Hope I never use it again......

John , when ever i do a bottom i always use a longer board then the norm which means......................... the longer the board the straighter the surface , and if you decide to use or go with the smaller board you stand the chance of your surface having somewhat of a wash board effect .

You can get sandpaper in rolls 3'' wide and 10' long or so. prob use 80 grit or 60 grit.. You can also buy several pcs. 3'' x 24''long that come from a box and just place them end to end to get the length you need. (less expensive) You don't need the machine, just put handles on the board and you are the machine...HaHa. You will see what I mean when I say I hope to never do that kind of work again. It will build your upper body strength. Have fun. It will be worth it when you take that first ride.

John , using a machine ( file board ) is the only way to go in my opinion for doing the bottom ( blueprinting ) , and why be the machine considering long boarding by hand can and is a whole lot of work, and just by chance if you decide to do it by hand 3-M makes a nice Hookit Faring Board one being Stiff the other being Flexible / Size 4-1/2 X 30 And yes like Xs-tream mentioned you can make your own board . John , over the years i have spent countless hours building plugs and molds and doing everything by hand ( long boarding ) because that is just the way it was done , and still is . I , gotta tell yah Xs-tream is not kidding about how physical it really can be ,and if you are somewhat of an old man WOW...............................
