That's a whole other question if I have the skills to do it. I just want to know if these rotating assemblies are built for that kind of running.

    1987 2.0l 150...

Didn’t want to start a whole new thread for this...

Motor’s been running pretty well the last three years or so as I slowly uninstall various “bugs” put in by previous owners. Just fixed a float that was sagging too low and probably not closing all the way when full. Now it runs even better (smoother idle). Though it didn’t seem to hurt the mid-high end.

So anyway on to the next question... the link bar that connects the throttle cam to the throttle arm... How do you take that mofo off, and is there spec for how far you adjust the link bar? I have the factory service manual and it says nothing about in the link and sync section.

Where would I look in the manual for information on how to remove and adjust it?

Isn’t it risky when you pull off the throttle arm that that spring will detach and uncoil and it will be a PITA to get it all back together again? Or can you keep it together as long as your careful?

there are two, or should be, springs.. one which is what i call "inside" of tha two arms.. tha circle part where tha two arms come together.. it will stay put if your carefull after removing tha 9/16 bolt (last thing ta remove after you remove tha trigger nut and tha cam nut) that holds it all on tha block.. tha other, if its there, is a half moon shaped that acts kinda like a "return" spring.. jus pay attention when ya pull tha things and all will be well.............

That half moon sounds like it could be a PITA to get back together again. Or is it? And whyTF doesn’t the factory manual talk about it?

Or u can add a spring to head bolt like hipo motors , that's what I did. Its snaps back better without putting to much tension. I actually forgot about the half moon one , I have a 150 with it still on but others I never put back, prob just forgot bout it b honest, or gone when I got em
