How can i tell the difference between a 150hp and a 200hp Mec? Its a 93 Black Max

Just bought a 17 action with a black max Not sure if its a 200 or a 150. Any ideas how to tell?

Post the serial number from a freeze out plug, maybe someone here will look it up for you. If it has been apart no real way to tell whats inside. Some shops can dyno it inexpensively. MartyD

You'd have to pull the head to be sure. The 150's had idle relief slots in the ports. I know on the later ones there are two letters stamped at the case half on the port side of the motor that can help id it. 200's were stamped FF

Yea this one is stamped EE

Probably a 150. Can't remember what the 175's were stamped
