    smartcraft / chartplotter interface

What will I be able to display by interfacing the smartcraft to the chartplotter ? My chartplotter has 1 available nmea input/output, I have twins, Is this doable? if doable, wiring diagram?

You need a mercmonitor to translate the smartcraft data to nmea data.

Also depending on the what model chartplotter you have you will need to have a NMEA2000 backbone installed to tee in the data from the merc monitor. The chartplotter has to have a NMEA2000 port. Not the 0183 version. Only the NMEA2000 will work.

Yes you can...You need to locate the NMEA wires on the Smartcraft unit.
White and Blue wires...You hook up the NMEA out and NMEA ground from the GPS to Smartcraft white and blue wires and you should be all set.

On some GPS's you have to enable the unit to send a signal out the NMEA interface. Go to chapter 8 in the Smartcraft manual.
