460 over heating
I have a 1977 weirdt with a 460 and a Berkeley pump. When i got picked it up it had water logs one it. I only drove it a few times and everything seem to work good. It came with bassett headers so i installed them and hooked the water lines up the way they said. Well the next time i took it out. It over heated and threw a rod. I pulled the motor and installed a different 460 but it still over heating. I checked the hoses and they are not plugged i ran water out the pump to make sure the wear ring didn't spin. I am going to put the water logs back on but i cant see how that will make a different.
This is my first jet boat and i cant seem to figure it out.
Thanks Leroy

This is the best plumbing info in print. Do not use the instructions that come from the header makers.

Thanks i will give that a try. I hope that works. I thought with one 5/8 line coming in and one going out would be good?

need one going in that T's into 2 and feeds water in each side of the water pump block off plate. Run two out the back one with a valve, my tub wants the valve 3/4 open to stay cool. Feed the headers off the intake may need to tap the hole that is on the front of the intake, in a car it had a nipple that was conected to the water pump. If they spray a light mist from 2000 up ur good. If you me 321-431-7459
