    help with mercury paralift jackplate

Hi my paralift occasionally labor when either lifting or lowering.
I can hear the motor turning but it's sometimes slow to raise or lower.

My first thought is that it's either low on fluid or there is air in the lines.

the jack plate is mounted on the boat at an angle, how can I determine if their is enough
fluid and that air is not trapped in the pump?</SPAN>

    thanks

Have you seen fluid leaking out of it? There is an allen head screw on mine to add oil. But, I would check the voltage going to the motor 1st. Put the12v power to the motor leads directly and see if this makes it work right. If it is still slow, prob is the motor Over time the motors just wear out and have to be replaced/rebuilt.

There are no leaks, I have powered it directly from 12v's same results. I added more oil it travels the full range,
sometimes it's works normal, other times not. The motor is a eaton, square housing.

Because of the angle of the transon it's diiferercult to add oil, where is the allen screw located?

    thanks
