I used to pull my 180 sea-ray with my 83Chrysler Cordoba, towed for years with no trouble. I installed air shocks and that was it. I alway took it real easy coming out of the hole, just enough gas to get it moving forward, dont spin or your done. traction control would have been Great!

Leave the weight on the tongue, your gonna need the traction. I can pull out of almost any ramp down here with an open diff (one tire fire) even if both tires are wet but all the ramps down here have a rough surface to enhance traction. Just be gentle and try it a few times at your local ramp but have a buddy on call with a strap incase you have an issue

You should be fine towing with that car. Not sure if they sell air shocks anymore but that is a possible adjustable solution for the rear. I have pulled and launched 18-21 foot boats with my 6 cyl, front wheel drive Impala without any issues. Rigs that have weighed 2000 to 3400 lbs

We've pulled a pair of waverunners 7+ hours to Virginia Beach with my wife's Chevy FWD minivan several times because I didn't feel like driving my pickup down. Gonna put my 21 foot Checkmate behind it one day and go over the mountain here to see how it does.

As for your rear suspension, can you swap over to the Magnum Wagon coils in the rear? It might sit too high then but ask around on the Charger forums for advice

I did a set of Gabriel air shocks in wifey's van, I love them and they're great as long as you use them properly (i.e. don't put 125 psi in, load the tail up, and wonder why the shocks came through the trunk). He can rides the same when you air them down to 25 or 30 psi and when the trailer goes on or we load people in to go to a concert I pump them up to 90 or so. The directions say do not run them empty, it could damage the bladders inside.

I would say if you decided to go 4x4 an XJ (small Cherokee) is a great way to go assuming its got the 4.0L motor. Decent on fuel, easy to fix, and big enough to carry 4 adults, their gear, and a cooler

It's actually not bad at low tide. It pulls out no problem!

Your ramp must be better then the one I used in NY. Steep and slippery at low tide if the trailer didnt fall off the end before the boat was all the way up

We towed a 22 ft outboard cat using a Golf with a 1.8 liter engine for years with no problems.

Front wheel drive cars are alot safer then rear wheel I think when it comes to low tide at the ramp
