    Seastar steering help

I installed a used Seastar on my Vector this weekend and during right steering I have to turn the wheel almost a full turn before it moves the motor but thats only the one way the other is fine. The hose input cracked on the right side looking from the steering wheel end of the helm so it was welded no leaks so Im wondering if it needs a seal kit? Its been bled very well. Any light on this would be great.

It's possible that whan it was welded the seals melted but from what you describe it sounds like there is still air in the system on that side of the helm.

Sounds like air trapped in the lines. Go down to a part store and get a pump brake line bleeder. They are cheap and easy to use. It will pull the fluid from the helm to the cylinder instead of having to turn the wheel from lock to lock. No chance of air being in there doing it that way inless you let air in at the helm while trying to keep it full. JMO....Good luck
