Here are a few pictures of it going on....Had a major problem when it was finished. Went out to the lake and 30 min in the sun, the adheasive failed so had to pull it all back off after it took close to 4 hours to stretch and heat and all the fun that went with it. The good thing is that the company is sending me a new piece to replace the defective one. So may try it again.

But, Soon as it gets here I will be taking it to a friend of mine who does this and see if he can get it to work out. It dod look great though. Just a pizzzer if you know what I mean.

Well it looks like I am going to have to fight with the people I bought the wrap from. They are claiming it was my fault as to how it was put on that it failed. Even with dewaxing, adheasion promotor applied, and not touching of the wrap that would have to make contact with the hood because of contamination precautions being taken. So the battle begins. I never figured it would turn into this over a piece of wrap that failed to hold after being installed using every precaution to do it right and it looking good but then comming off when the sun hit it.

Shoot an e-mail off to Eric. Tell him Shaun told you about him. I've worked on his trucks, cut some car audio deals, he belonged to a car club I co-ran. If he doesn't remember me, he'll remember my Corvette lol..... Anyways, he's been doing stickers for about 6 years, wraps for about 4. We're far away, but I'm sure he'll give you a fair opinion...... Might even help you out with product!

Thanks "idvette"...I have a guy local here in Columbia That is going to look at the Wrap when and if I get a replacement. I have already shown him a piece and he said the glue used to hold it on was subpar at best, and when the heat hit it, it just came unglued. His advice was not to use the replacement for the hood but on some flatter items that really would not see a lot of the summer heat so it cant peel up or come loose. Kinda defeats the purpose of why I bought it in the first place. But you get what you pay for. Now I just have to wait and see what happens with the replacement......

If anyone is interested in some high quality guaranteed carbon fiber wrap.....here is the place to not go for it!!!!! It has now escalated on ebay. I got the replacement and its 2 feet shorter than what it was supposed to be. The seller shippped it out 5 days after he stated it would be. He says it was a special order item yet he has 10 still listed in his listing....it goes on and on....Learned a lesson from this one.....READ THE FEED BACK AND IF ITS LESS THAN 99% MOVE ON AND FORGET ABOUT BUYING FROM THEM!!!!

Just looking at your comments on the carbon fiber. I am a new member but my business is graphics. One problem with ALL the textured carbon fiber is it is not made for all intense purposes to be heated, stretched, molded, pulled, etc. And you noticed the main thing. Once in heat the glue stuck to your object but the film release from its own glue. This is because the adhesive is a hitack cast adhesive whether 3m or other and film is calendared or PVC. A failure will happen 96 out of 100 times no matter whose material. I invented 4 color process wide format in 1990 and also was the first person to wrap ANY boat in full. Created the first bass boat wrap for Ranger and FLW. If you need something or want to see my work go to www.crazyfishgfx.com and go to photo gallery. Joe

Ok...Here we go again. The wrap i tried did not turn out to good as the film was defective. Hated to have to do it, but had to go a different route than I wanted.
The first pictures are of the half wrap I did with a simi flat background and a yellow Mercury emblem on it.....
It really didnt turn out to bad, but just not what I wanted....so tried it again.
Next pictures are after I undid everything again....sanding, cleaning, and prep work again. Ended up with this......Matches the Laser a little better....Jack of all trades and a master of none...."But what do I know"....
