Who built a Go Fast Center Console without core materials?

I'm looking for an older 30 foot (or so) Go Fast Center Console to restore.

I'd rather not deal with one that was built using core materials like foam or balsa. Just a good old fashioned fiberglass laminate with wood stringers, bulkheads, floor and transom.

What boats should I be on the look out for?

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks, Ken

Scarab (sport or sprint), Concept, Midnight Express, Rabco, Chris Craft Scorpion, Old Condors, those are good ones to start with and still plentiful. The Scarabs are a dime a dozen specially in South Florida....

Pantera made a few 28's as a center console. No core there...

Thanks guys! I don't mind dealing with stringers and transoms but I'm allergic to rotten balsa core.

    Keep 'em coming.

What's wrong with a core? Just asking. Seems to be a strong lighter layup.

Most of your larger center consoles or saltwater boats dont have cores. They are not limited by weight and are not trying to achieve upper speed levels such as Hydros and other smaller boats, so they are a thicker layup. I would really hate to price a balsa cored 32' center console.......

i just bought a 1987 27 prowler cc twin 200 less than 300 hours on boat and motors, on the trailer for $5500.00 in cape coral fl. but had to replace a sheet of ply wood flooring at rear where some one bolted down a back seat old but good strong boat 4 stringers and every 4 feet sectioned putting a live well in back center work in progress rite now. take your time shop around there are some good deals still out there.

To many issues with rot on boats older than 15 years. It's not a question of if but when and when it goes it's a major pia to deal with.

So far all I've looked at are the Scarab Sports and the Floor and Deck above the Cuddy have balsa cores. Many have soft floors as a result of poor install of the console and soft decks because of poor install of the Hatch. It's to bad because those are everywhere and are cheap.

Like Sammythebull said I just need to keep looking.

I have never seen a Carrera or Pantera center console. I'm looking for a 30cc with forward cabin too and the Chris Crafts, Scarabs all seem to have floor problems. I'm afraid if I find one without a floor problem it will develop after I buy it.

    i never saw a 30, just 16 and 21. Probably cause Superboat's 30 is 7' beam which wouldn't be good for fishing.
