Cowling pan is mostly done. Just a little fine tuning, filler and paint to do, but that can wait till after some water testing.

Trimmed off the lower part of the cowling to the proper height. About 3/4" below the back pisser rubber boot. This height just clears the top of the wing plate and taylor mid. Note that no lines on the cowling are horizontal, so you must trim off enough of the lower cowling to be able to mount it to mark a horizontal line for the final cut. After the trimming and dry fit, make sure that you have enough room between the bottom of the cowl and mid wing plate for the fiber glass panel that will get added.
Polyester resin does not stick to the etec pans. Had to use epoxy. Made a flat glass panel and then glassed it from the inside to the cowling. The cowling pan is bolted together for this. Cut the center seam to seperate the two sections when cured. Trimmed out the flat panel so it fits the mid with minimal openings, then clamped it to the other side of the cowling to trace a patter and cut the other side. Fits real nice. Also note that the 4 rubber Etec cowling mounts are different size and smaller than the older cowlings. I still got some filler, and body work to do, but this is far enough along to get it on the water.
I will also be adding a buckle style latch to the back of the flat panel that got glassed in, to hold the cowling together better. Might do it from the inside. Plenty of room to reach right in.
If anybody wants exact measurements to help with thier project let me know.

Etec cowling are tough to come by and expensive. A new set costs about 2k. If you get lucky you might find a top cowling for $400 and lower pans for $300. I am sure the price will come down in the future as there wil be more parts motors on the market.

No skirt here. Anything other than this height would have been more work. If I went longer, then I would have to work around the side ram steering. Any higher and I would have to also glass in the rubber pisser gromet area, and it would be real tight for the pyrometers.
Skirts are for in the boat, not on the boat2005 TRIAD STV EURO
