Mercury 1997 225 (Carb) losing RPM's
Hello,
I have twin 225's (2stroke) with the port engine starting to act up. Starting does not sound good, spitting and coughing for a few mins the evens out. When at running (RPM’s 4000) the port engine will lose about 400 rpms for a few seconds then advance back to where it was. It cycles through this about every 2 min. At lower RPM’s 2000 or lower I don’t have an issue. I have changed the plugs, fuel lines and filters. As for fuel there is only 1 220 gal tank that feeds both motors and the starboard engine does not seem to mind it. I read about a throttle speed sensor that controls the timing at higher rpm’s. Could this be the issue?</SPAN>
