Hydrostream vking help
1982 Vking project... going to have a lot of questions and need a lot of help. First thing is first...
Pulled up the floor, has anybody seen this stringer set up before??? Does anyone know if this is like this from Hydrostream or a custom job??
Stringers are shot, I havent done any digging but doesnt look like there is a core, just glass??
Here are some pics.... help and info please. Thanks Dan

Looks like it went to the "if we pile enough roving in here, it'll be strong" fiberglass shop. I'd suspect there may be a core in there under all that mess.

Offshore Ginger, Thanks for the reply. I am trying to figure out if I should just copy this.... I was told this was all original, but you know how that story goes. The condition is sh@#, so it could be original. What do you think?? Did the one you that you saw have a core?? thanks

The center stringer set up looks firmilar but that does not look OEM. If it was OEM with no core there would be a stringer in every strake and other wood structures for bulkheads. Is there core?

Looks like it has core under the stringers. Mine had some roving over just the core area. Start taking out stringer wood and you will prob cut into the core. I have seen a few V-Kings gutted out and none were of the same construction method. Mine had and still has a U shaped fiberglass center stringer.....

This raised area gives me the impression it may have a core.
Just as everyone else is saying, there are no absolutes in Stream construction, seems every boat that's opened has a different look.Living in the Freedom provided by Bud Conner and his fellow warriors.

Hey guys , over the last few years i have seen two boats like this , and both had core that needed to be replaced .......with a stringer system along with all the intermittents that looked identical to the one shown above ,and in my opinion most definitely was an add on...... which almost looked like the same person did the work .

ohh yeah I will need u soon Keith!! I was trying not to burn out my favors yet. LOL Just doing a little destruction. Yes fella's No more questions on that...... It has a core... well have a core after today.
Next question? It is on a bunk trailer, and I plan so far on not splitting the hull... is that enough support or do a need a jig??
