stove blower motor speed control size??

my blower motor on my wood burning stove dont vary the speed much anymore and I need to replace the potentiometer (reo stat) but I dont have a clue as to what size or restiance of one I need. the two fans on the stove blowers are marked 120 volt 60 herts and 24 watts each, I want a potentiometer that will vary the speed of the blowers with a full rotation of the knob., too high of resistance and all the control will be in the first few degrees of turning the knob, too light of resistance and it wont slow down the blowers, so what OHMs would you recomend?

Use an SCR control (lamp dimmer). If you have a pot on it now that looks like that, it's controlling an SCR speed control. That's a 1 watt pot, and you'd need at least 25 to handle the motors directly. Shaded pole motors don't like DC control anyway. Switched is way better.
To fish or not to fish? What a STUPID question.
