    Talking New-ish Mercury 150 EFI 4 Stroke?

    I know these are over 6 months old but I just encountered the Mercury 150 EFI 4 stroke yesterday for the first time. I asked the Merc tech if he could overview the engine for me. I'm sold so far. Still made in U.S.A. 3000cc over 4 cylinders sounds like there is more room for more power. I like the "user-friendly" maintainance features, it reminds me of the 90hp+ Suzuki's.

    Anyone have a dyno sheet on these? I've read multiple times they are "torque monsters". I wonder if Mercury will delete their line of 135hp - 200hp Verado's and these will take over. Glad that Mercury is pulling up their socks a bit. I was getting worried that they were falling behind on the loop. Favourite brand every since I was a little boy, would hate to see them go.

    What do you guys think of the motor? I think it looks promising.

    I don't know if the 4 cylinder verados will go away or not, but one of the ideas behind this engine is to make it easier for repowers, since you can reuse the old controls and not have to run the new fly by wire stuff.

    They are a very nice engine, and much simpler in design than the veradont based line. Not to mention MUCH better looking. Still need to shed another 80 lbs.

    Are they belt driven or chain driven like the Veradosaurus's?

    I'd really like to know more about these than the spec sheet on Merc's site...

    I hope these take off (no pun).
