Question Could I use an 87 200hp Johnson GT lower unit on my 88 200hp Evinrude XP

Could I use an 87 200hp Johnson GT lower unit on my 88 200hp Evinrude XP I've looked thru older posts and can't seem to find if this is possible/ feasable or not. If I have my facts straight the GT is a Crossflow, and my XP(20") is a Looper. Any advice or help on this would be greatly appreciated. Or if any of you have a lower unit that is a straight change out, I'm open to buying a runing take off so to speak.

Will bolt right up. Both are loopers. The 87 is 2.7 liter and 88 is 3. Same lower units.

My pleasure. Welcome to Scream and Fly. Don't forget to set your shift shaft height.
