    2.0 / 2.4 / 2.5 Exhaust plates

has anybody ever measured the size of the exaust openings in the different exhaust plates and documented it? I know my 1750 had larger openings than a 2.4 or 2.5. I would like to see all these togther in a document for my notes. Scanned plates with measurements would be cool.

A frind of mine had a 2.0 175 It had the bigest exh i had ever seen. They were L shaped with the tuner cast on the exh plate. we were running in salt water then and it was too eaten up to use.wish we had kept it .I would have loved to see how it would have run on my 2.4.

if your referring to the exhaust adapter underneath the powerhead there are three diffrent types , the old 2.0 175 with mammoth hole then a small window commonly on the 2.4 and a large window commonly on the 2.0 prod. and 2.5 high perf

luckam , i know what you mean , it was a square hole with some added to the side , i have 2 or 3 of them , they tried to get every ounce out of that motor! the problem was that it made the block weak and any corrosion was sure to cause a problem , i tried to keep at least one of those blocks but have had no luck finding a nice one in my region , the whole exhaust cavity was gone pretty much like the drag motors today , it is amazing how long mercury has been able to use the same technology just tweaking it slightly.

I ran one of those 1750 adapters on my sst 140 (not on purpose) it ran like crap. Poor low end midrange and flat acceleration. I put a post up about it. I believe I called it "anybody know what this is?" I still have it if you wanna buy it. Its not really corroded at all. Im not sure but I think someone may have cut the tuner. Its got a bolt wrung off in it but I can get that out with the mill if you want it.

Yeah, I know about the different sizes. I am curious what differences they make with different motors. Like Ryan140 posted, that is interesting.
Also, I'd like to look ate all them together. Scans would be cool.
